Our wire harness tape factory is located in Jiaxing, China. Orders are prepared according to the agreed backing, adhesive system, roll dimensions, packaging and inspection requirements. Custom converting operations include slitting, rewinding, dimensional checks, roll inspection and packing.
These capabilities allow us to supply standard rolls as well as custom wire harness tape rolls for harness manufacturers, electrical-equipment producers and industrial distributors. For repeat orders, the approved grade, dimensions, tolerances, winding and packaging requirements can be recorded in the order specification.

The backing construction should match the main job of the tape on the harness. A soft fleece wrap intended to reduce contact noise is selected differently from a woven fabric tape used around cable routes exposed to repeated rubbing. Our current range provides three starting grades across two PET backing structures.
W532 combines a nonwoven PET fleece backing with synthetic rubber pressure-sensitive adhesive. Its soft, flexible and hand-tearable construction is intended for cable bundling, conformable wrapping and noise-damping support in passenger compartments and selected industrial assemblies. It is particularly relevant around bends, branches and irregular harness geometries where the wrapped bundle needs to remain flexible.

The W531 series uses woven PET fabric where tensile strength and protection from mechanical contact are more important. W531a is the thinner, hand-tearable grade with synthetic rubber adhesive for general manual wrapping. W531b uses a more robust woven backing and acrylic adhesive for applications requiring higher tensile and abrasion performance.
Temperature capability, abrasion classification and any automotive requirement must be confirmed against the exact W531 grade and applicable test method before approval.

Roll format affects both installation efficiency and material handling. Risure can review custom slit widths, roll lengths, core options, winding requirements, individual wrapping, carton quantities and export packaging for production orders. Neutral labels, private labels and carton marking can also be discussed where applicable.
For manual wrapping, width, hand tearability, roll handling and unwind consistency are normally the main production considerations. For automatic or semi-automatic wrapping, please also provide the required core size, maximum roll diameter, winding direction and equipment details so that the proposed roll can be evaluated on the actual machine.

We support manufacturers that need a tape grade and roll format matched to an actual harness process. The proposed construction should be evaluated on the specified cable jacket, harness diameter and wrapping pattern rather than selected from adhesion-to-steel data alone. After approval, the roll and packaging requirements can be retained for repeat production orders.
PET fleece and fabric tapes can also be evaluated for bundling and protecting already insulated wires in electrical equipment and industrial assemblies. They are not presented as primary electrical insulation unless dielectric performance and any required approval have been confirmed for the exact grade.
For distributors, we can review repeatable roll sizes, neutral or private labels, carton quantities and product-specific documents. Providing the target market, common applications, preferred dimensions and expected demand helps us prepare a more relevant product and packaging proposal.
Finished-roll inspection follows the applicable product and order specification. Depending on the agreed requirements, checks may include:
Abrasion, noise-damping and temperature classifications must be connected to the exact grade, test method and test conditions. A value or classification from one W531 or W532 construction should not be used to qualify another.
Available documents may include a product-specific Technical Data Sheet, applicable test reports, restricted-substance documentation or material declarations where available, and order-specific inspection records where agreed before production. If an automotive standard, flame requirement, VOC limit or customer test method is mandatory, send it before quotation so that product and document availability can be checked.
The product name and width are enough for an initial price check, but a useful sample recommendation requires a little more information:
If the project is replacing an existing tape, include its product number, current data sheet or a sample where possible. This provides a clearer comparison basis than a generic request for automotive cloth tape.
For a new cable jacket, harness geometry or wrapping process, test the proposed tape on the actual assembly. Apply it using the intended tension and overlap, then inspect the wrapped harness after the required thermal, environmental or mechanical exposure.
The trial should cover the points that matter to the application, such as unwind and cutting behaviour, edge lifting, adhesive transfer, harness flexibility, cable-jacket condition and abrasion or noise performance. Approval should be based on the completed harness and production process, not only on an unused roll or adhesion-to-steel value.
