J-3801 Series is a PET film and glass-filament reinforced electrical tape designed for motor coil banding, lead-wire anchoring, end-turn securing, and holding insulation components during motor and transformer assembly. Its acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive, high tensile strength, and low elongation provide stable mechanical support during winding and handling.
The series includes three grades. J-3801 provides the highest listed tensile strength at 1300 N/25 mm. J-3807 offers a thinner 0.16 mm construction with 900 N/25 mm tensile strength, while J-3801B is the thinnest grade at 0.13 mm and provides the highest listed adhesion to steel. All three grades have a standard roll length of 50 m and reported dielectric breakdown and temperature data of 5 kV and 155°C.
These figures are typical selection data rather than approval of a complete electrical insulation system. Before bulk ordering, buyers should confirm the required width, winding tension, contact substrate, operating temperature, and any exposure to varnish, resin, baking, or transformer oil. Request the current grade-specific TDS, test methods, tolerances, compliance documents, and samples before production approval.
